Governor's Energy Management Project

  • Provided technical expertise in a tractor best practices demonstration, funded by the Governor's Energy Management Office.
  • Responsible for all technical project phases, from system analysis to implementation, testing and delivery.
  • Updated the on-board computer of a JD4400 instrumented tractor with an STD-Bus Pro-Log 386SX embedded system, with Windows 3.1 Operating System
  • Developed the real-time data acquisition, processing, graphical user interface, data storage, control and telemetry, using Visual Basic 1 for Windows and third party communication DLL.
  • Developed the device driver DLL for the data acquisition cards using Borland C/C++.
  • Developed remote node for the telemetry RF link, real-time data processing, control and downloading on a message display, using Visual Basic 1 for DOS.
  • Developed on-line help.
  • Developed an instrumentation amplifier hardware, and interface, control and data acquisition software, for energy measurements during tree extraction, using a National Instruments DAQ card on an EPSON portable computer.
  • Developed the preamplifier/signal conditioner for the load cell signal, and the data acquisition and interface software, using Visual Basic for DOS, linked with National Instruments proprietary C and ASM driver libraries. Developed a graphics module for viewing the distribution of the collected data, a data reduction model for exporting to a spreadsheet and a load cell calibration application.

Tree Extraction Measurement System

  • Developed an instrumentation amplifier system for energy measurements during tree extraction .
  • Developed hardware to interface with a National Instruments DAQ card on an  EPSON portable computer
  • Developed data acquisition and control software, with a graphical user interface.

Tension Measurement and Calibration System

  • Developed the preamplifier/signal conditioner for the signal of a load cell connected to an instrumentation board of a PC.
  • Developed the data acquisition and graphical user interface software, using Visual Basic 1 for DOS, linked to National Instruments proprietary C and ASM driver libraries.
  • Developed a graphics module for viewing the distribution of the collected data.
  • Developed a data reduction model for exporting the summarized data to a spreadsheet
  • Developed a load cell calibration application.
